Farmers Play a Vital Role in Making India Self-Reliant: Dr. D.K. Singh

Prayagraj : While India moves steadily toward becoming a developed and self-reliant nation, the contribution of its farmers remains pivotal. Stressing this sentiment, Dr. D.K. Singh, Principal of Motilal Nehru Farmers Training Institute (CORDET-IFCO Phulpur), highlighted the importance of self-reliant agriculture in building Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).

Dr. Singh was addressing a Kisan Chaupal held in Khanpur Dandi village, where a large number of farmers gathered to learn about advanced agricultural inputs. He detailed the application methods and benefits of IFCO's revolutionary products – Nano Urea Plus and Nano DAP, particularly for paddy crops.

“These nano fertilizers are powerful tools that enhance productivity while reducing input costs and environmental burden,” said Dr. Singh, encouraging farmers to adopt modern solutions for sustainable and profitable farming.

Field Experience from a Veteran Farmer
Progressive farmer and former District Panchayat Chairman, B.D. Singh, presided over the event and shared his own experiences with nano fertilizers. He emphasized how adopting scientific agricultural practices has transformed productivity in his region.

Wide Participation and Support
Representatives from various agricultural development bodies were also present. Key attendees included:

Sumit Yadav and Dinesh Maurya from Sahgal Foundation

Dr. Krishna Gopal from e-Pahal

Mukesh Tiwari from CORDET

Leading farmers like Ranjit Singh, Ramjanak Patel, Anil Singh, and Ramnath

Their collective insights added value to the knowledge-sharing session.

At the end of the program, CORDET distributed papaya saplings free of cost to all attending farmers as a step toward diversifying agricultural practices. Additionally, six selected farmers received starter kits of Nano DAP, Nano Urea Plus, and Sagarika Liquid Bio-stimulant for application in their paddy fields.

This initiative aims to provide farmers with hands-on experience in using modern inputs that promote better yield with reduced environmental impact.

he event was effectively conducted under the supervision of Rajesh Kumar Singh, IRDP In-Charge at CORDET, who ensured smooth coordination and farmer engagement throughout the Chaupal.

The program stands as a testament to the commitment of institutions like IFCO and CORDET in empowering rural India through awareness, innovation, and direct farmer interaction. As India aspires for holistic growth, such grassroots-level initiatives lay the foundation for a truly self-reliant agricultural economy.
