National Seminar at Aryakul College Honors Legacy of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray

Lucknow. In a fitting tribute to the father of Indian chemistry, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray, the Aryakul College of Pharmacy and Research, Aryakul College of Management, and Aryakul College of Education successfully hosted a national seminar on his birth anniversary. The event, held in collaboration with Vidya Bharti Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan, Awadh Prant, was centered on the theme "Legacy and Contribution of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray" and aimed to shed light on his pioneering scientific and social work.

The seminar began with a formal lamp-lighting ceremony and the national anthem, led by the chief guests and dignitaries. Prof. Vinay Kumar Singh, a respected professor from the Chemistry Department at Lucknow University, was the chief guest. He was honored with a shawl and a memento by Dr. Sashakt Singh, Dr. Aditya, Dr. Manjul, Dr. Ankita, and senior journalist Dr. Ajay Shukla. Other key figures from Vidya Bharti, including Prof. Jai Shankar Pandey, Dr. Subhash Mishra, and Dr. Manjul Trivedi, along with Dr. Sashakt Singh, were also specially felicitated for their contributions.

In his welcoming address, the Director of Aryakul College, Dr. Sashakt Singh, highlighted the continued relevance of Acharya P.C. Ray’s work. He noted that the day provided an opportunity to remember the contributions of the great chemist whose discoveries remain significant in modern chemistry and even in traditional Ayurvedic practices. Dr. Singh emphasized that chemistry is deeply integrated into every aspect of life, forming the basis for all medicines and drugs. He urged students to draw inspiration from Acharya Ray and pursue new research and discoveries.

Prof. Jai Shankar Pandey then delivered an insightful address, followed by the keynote speech from Prof. Vinay Kumar Singh. Speaking on "The Current Role and Future of Chemistry," Prof. Singh provided a comprehensive and thought-provoking lecture that offered students a clearer perspective on the opportunities and challenges in the field.

To encourage student participation and innovation, a poster competition was organized as part of the seminar. The winners were presented with certificates and awards by the chief guests, recognizing their efforts and research. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Aditya Singh, Deputy Director of the Pharmacy and Research department. Dr. Gaurav Mishra expertly handled the stage proceedings, ensuring the smooth flow of the event.

The seminar saw wide participation from students and staff across the college's various departments. Smt. Ruchi Singh (Chief Executive Officer), Sudesh Tiwari (Registrar), Prof. B.K. Singh, Dr. Sneha Singh, Astha Tiwari, Deepika Kumari, Swarnima Srivastava, Dr. Rahul Sharma, Prof. S.C. Tiwari, Dr. Abdul Rab Khan, Deepti Singh, Ashish Tiwari, Ruksar Bano, Shadab, Shweta Mishra, Vartika Singh, Shakib Ansari, Aarti Kumari, Mahesh Sharma, Rajat Mishra, and Manjari were among the many present. The national seminar served as a fitting tribute to Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray's enduring legacy and successfully inspired the next generation of students to embrace the world of science and innovation.
