ISOPARB Society Holds Symposium on Newborn Health and Vitamin D for Women
A scientific symposium organized by the ISOPARB Society in Kanpur discussed essential tests for newborns and the importance of Vitamin D for women.

Kanpur: A significant scientific symposium was recently organized by the Kanpur ISOPARB Society at the Hotel Royal Cliff. The symposium aimed to raise awareness about two crucial health topics where public knowledge is often lacking: the necessary tests for newborns and the vital role of Vitamin D in women's health.
The event featured detailed presentations by prominent city doctors. Senior pediatrician Dr. Pradeep Muttu provided crucial insights into newborn screening. He explained which tests are essential after birth, when and why they should be performed, and the importance of these screenings for a child's long-term health. His presentation was highly informative for parents, helping them make informed decisions regarding their infant's well-being.
The Crucial Role of Vitamin D in Women’s Health
Following this, Dr. Reena Muttu shed light on the importance of Vitamin D for women. She highlighted the vitamin's significance at every stage of a woman’s life, from childhood to menopause. Dr. Muttu also discussed the health effects of Vitamin D deficiency, the recommended dosage, and how long it should be taken. Her session aimed to dispel common myths and provide accurate information, which is critical for maintaining women’s overall health.
The symposium was well-attended by many senior female doctors from Kanpur, including Dr. Meera Agnihotri, Dr. Neelam Mishra (President), Dr. Kiran Sinha (Secretary), Dr. Vinita Awasthi (Treasurer), Dr. Kalpana Dixit (President KOGS), and other distinguished professionals.
The program was expertly moderated by Dr. Rashi Mishra and Dr. Richa Luthra. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Kiran Sinha, the society's secretary. This symposium not only enriched the knowledge of the medical fraternity but also contributed significantly to health awareness in Kanpur, offering valuable information that will benefit both newborns and women in the community.
