#BMW Group India Achieves Record Sales Amidst Growing Demand for Luxury EVs

New Delhi : In a remarkable showcase of growth, BMW Group India announced its highest-ever car sales in the first nine months of 2025, demonstrating a robust performance driven by the burgeoning demand for luxury electric vehicles (EVs) and enhanced customer engagement. With a total of 11,978 cars and 3,976 motorcycles sold, the company has firmly established itself as a leader in the luxury automotive market.

The latest figures reveal that BMW sold 11,510 units while MINI contributed 468 units to the overall sales. The third quarter of the year (July to September) marked a significant milestone, with BMW Group India achieving its highest sales for any Q3, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 21%. The month of September alone witnessed unprecedented sales, largely attributed to the positive impact of new Goods and Services Tax (GST) pricing and the festive season.

Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, expressed satisfaction with the company’s trajectory, emphasizing their commitment to customer-centricity and innovative brand engagement. He noted that the impressive sales figures not only highlight the efficacy of their product offerings but also underscore the importance of excellent aftersales services and tailored financial solutions. Brar’s vision for the future includes unlocking the full potential of the luxury car market while maintaining BMW's renowned promise of JOY and Sheer Driving Pleasure.

A standout segment within BMW's portfolio is its electric vehicles, which have become the number one choice for luxury EV consumers in India. With 2,509 electric vehicles sold between January and September, this segment experienced a staggering growth of 246% compared to the previous year, contributing to a 21% share of total sales. The iX1 emerged as the top-selling electric model, closely followed by the flagship i7.

BMW Group India's commitment to EV infrastructure is evident through initiatives like BMW Destination Charging and a comprehensive nationwide fast-charging dealer network, which spans over 51 cities. This extensive charging network, coupled with complimentary Wallbox chargers, ensures that customers experience seamless e-mobility.

In addition to EVs, long wheelbase models showed impressive growth, with sales increasing by 169% year-on-year, accounting for 50% of total sales. The BMW 3 Series retained its position as the highest-selling sedan, celebrated for its spacious interior and luxurious features. Meanwhile, the BMW 7 Series continues to be a preferred choice among ultra-luxury vehicles.

The Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment also performed well, with a 19% increase in sales, reflecting a growing preference for versatile and spacious vehicles. The BMW X1 led the SAV sales, capturing over 30% market share.

As part of its future-ready strategy, BMW Group India is launching the Retail.NEXT initiative, which aims to redefine the customer experience by integrating innovative digital tools and immersive retail concepts across its dealer network.

Looking ahead, the company plans to enhance its reach by adding 11 new dealer touchpoints in nine cities by the end of 2025. With innovative financing solutions through BMW India Financial Services, the brand continues to make luxury car ownership more accessible and appealing to a broader customer base.
