Farmer Chaupal in Prayagraj Highlights Soil Health and Nano-Fertilizers
Experts in Prayagraj guided farmers on soil testing, Nano Urea Plus, and Nano DAP benefits to improve soil health and cut costs.
Prayagraj : Under the Soil Testing Campaign 2025-26, CORDET Phulpur organized a Farmer Chaupal and Soil Testing Campaign in the selected village of Harbhanpur. The event focused on educating farmers about sustainable agricultural practices, particularly stressing the critical role of soil health.
Dr. K.N. Tiwari, Senior Agricultural Scientist from IFFCO, was the key speaker, providing a detailed discussion on the benefits of soil testing. He shed light on the common deficiencies of various micro-elements in the local soil. A major focus of his address was the innovative use of Nano Urea Plus and Nano DAP. Dr. Tiwari emphasized that farmers could significantly reduce their cultivation costs and improve both soil and human health by halving the quantity of traditional granular urea and DAP. He also observed the thriving mustard crop of progressive farmer Krishna Kumar Tiwari, which had been treated with Nano DAP, noting the satisfactory results.
Dr. D.K. Singh, Principal of CORDET, further elaborated on the detrimental effects of over-relying on granular urea and DAP. He provided extensive information on bio-fertilizers and offered practical advice on crop residue management. Dr. Singh instructed farmers on how to convert their crop residue into valuable fertilizer, which helps boost beneficial microorganisms in the soil.
The CORDET team also showcased a practical demonstration on the correct method for taking soil samples from their fields for testing. Harbhanpur Village Head Bhuleshwar Nath Tiwari presided over the program, welcoming the experts and expressing gratitude on behalf of the farming community. The event, conducted by IRDP In-charge Rajesh Singh, saw the attendance of numerous progressive farmers, including Ramkumar Yadav, Rajesh Shukla, and others, all of whom were assured of CORDET’s continued support in various agricultural activities.
