Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha along with many dignitaries from Sri Lanka graced the event. The Indian High Commission in Colombo wrote in a post shared on the social media platform 'X' that the 75th Foundation Day of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations was celebrated in Sri Lanka. ICCR alumni and award winners gathered for a cultural function in the presence of Honorable Ministers Sushil Premajayantha and Vidur Wickramanayake and High Commissioner Santosh Jha.

During this, Minister Premjayanta, who was present as the chief guest, congratulated ICCR for promoting cultural, religious, and social relations. Meanwhile, High Commissioner Jha appreciated ICCR's role as a pillar of India's cultural diplomacy and the role of Colombo-based ICCR in furthering India-Sri Lanka's people-to-people contacts.

ICCR is an important platform to showcase India's vibrant democracy and culture globally. It has been expanding India's cultural footprint on the global stage for years. The organization is not only promoting India's cultural exchange with other countries through various programs but is also providing facilities to foreign students to study in India, who later become cultural ambassadors of India. .
The efforts of the organization greatly assist India in strengthening its inter-cultural relations with other countries. In addition, ICCR also supports local art and culture, creating invaluable opportunities for artists in the fields of art, music, dance, and drama.
