Youth Heart Attack : Medanta Doctors Aware about Rising Heart Attacks in Youth Generation
Medanta Hospital, Lucknow, specialists raise alarm over increasing heart attack cases among young adults in a recent seminar.

During the seminar titled 'Young Hearts at Risk', senior doctors pointed out that several modern lifestyle factors are responsible for this alarming rise. They emphasised that a sedentary lifestyle, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, stress, and smoking are the primary culprits behind this escalating health crisis. These risk factors, when combined, create a perfect storm for cardiovascular issues in the younger generation.
The event served as a platform for experts to discuss complex case studies and showcase the advanced cardiac care available at Medanta. They highlighted the use of cutting-edge technologies like complex angioplasty, stenting, TAVI, and robotic surgery. The hospital was presented as a state-of-the-art cardiac centre, equipped with a 24/7 team of specialists and the latest diagnostic tools.
Dr Praveen K. Goyal, a key speaker at the conclave, stressed the growing importance of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). He explained that this minimally invasive procedure offers a safe and effective alternative to open-heart surgery, particularly benefiting older patients who suffer from multiple comorbidities.
Meanwhile, Dr Gauranga Majumdar demonstrated the use of robotic technology in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), which enhances surgical precision and reduces invasiveness. Doctors S.K. Dwivedi and Himanshu Gupta shared challenging cases of angioplasty and stenting that were made even more complicated by pre-existing conditions like strokes and gastric ulcers.
In a crucial piece of advice for people over 40, the doctors strongly recommended getting a comprehensive health check-up before starting any strenuous workout regimen. This includes checking blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes levels, along with a treadmill stress test. They warned that unaddressed risk factors could prove fatal during intense physical activity. The seminar was attended by other notable doctors, including Dr Avdhesh Dwivedi, Dr Vineeta, and Dr Abhishek, who contributed their valuable insights to the discussion.
