Dr. Probal will participate in the 16th Congress of Russian Surgeons held in Moscow 

Prayagraj : Famous laparoscopic surgeon and professor of surgery department of Motilal Nehru Medical College Prayagraj Dr.Probal Niyogi has once again brought glory to the city on the international stage.He was invited by the Russian Society of Surgeons to participate and deliver lectures at the XVI Congress of Russian Surgeons held in Moscow 21 to 23 October as a member of the high level surgeon delegation from IndiaThis is the first time that Russia has invited Indian surgeons to its annual conference.

Dr. Niyogi who is the former National President of the Association of Surgeons of India and coordinator of international affairs, is included in this delegation along with the current National President, Prof. Praveen Suryavanshi (Maharashtra) was also includedDuring the conference, an MoU was drafted to increase cooperation in the field of surgery between the two countries.

President of the Society of Russian Surgeons, Prof. Alexei Vasilievich Shabunin said that the experience of Indian surgeons in the treatment of bullet and war-related injuries is extremely important. This will be useful for both our defense and health sectors. This MoU will be formally signed at the annual conference of the Association of Surgeons of India to be held in Kolkata in December 2025

The Indian delegation was also given a tour of the 1800-bed Botkin Multidisciplinary Research and Clinical Center in Moscow, where they interacted with the directors of trauma surgery, cancer care and other specialized branches.Dr.Probal Niyogi said that it was an extremely proud and emotional moment for me that I could represent Prayagraj and India and share the achievements of Indian surgeons in a big country like Russia.

The surgical experience and efficiency in India is being appreciated globally. This cooperation will open a new chapter in the exchange of medical research, training and modern technology between the two countries in the times to come.
