Memorandum to Police Commissioner Kanpur regarding providing security during Easter festival
Hariom Kanpur Nagar- A delegation under the leadership of Pastor Jitendra Singh, General Secretary of the Pastor's Association, met Police Commissioner Akhilesh Kumar on Monday regarding the 40-day fast, Good Friday, and continuous prayers of the Christian community
from 14th February to 29th March regarding the safety of the community. Met Kumar and while handing over the memorandum, complained about the disruption caused by anti-social elements during his festival and demanded security.
Pastor Jitendra Singh said that during the 40-day fast from February 14 to March 29, Good Friday, the period of worship will continue in the Christian society and prayer meetings will also be held. It is said that for the past few years, some unruly elements have disrupted their programs, due to which there is a lot of fear in Christian society. This is a holy month for the people of our society.
Good Friday service on March 29 and Easter service on Sunday, March 31 are organized in churches, which has been happening continuously for the last 58 years. When he asked for security from the Police Commissioner, Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar said that everyone should celebrate their festivals freely and he assured them of security.
