New Delhi: Amid the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, Indian embassies in both Tehran and Tel Aviv are operating on high alert to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals residing in or traveling through these regions. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has emphasized that citizen safety remains a top diplomatic and humanitarian priority under these volatile circumstances.

The Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv has been in close contact with Indian students, professionals, and tourists. Embassy officials are actively monitoring their safety, providing timely assistance, and issuing regular advisories through official and social media channels. Community groups have also been mobilized to spread awareness about emergency protocols and response measures.

On the other front, the Indian Embassy in Tehran is responding swiftly to evolving security developments. In a recent statement, the MEA confirmed that several Indian students in Tehran have been safely relocated to secure areas outside the city due to heightened security risks. A number of these students have already been transferred to neighboring Armenia under a coordinated evacuation effort.

In addition, Indian nationals who possess personal means of transport or access to resources have been advised to voluntarily move to safer zones, if possible. This pre-emptive measure is aimed at minimizing risks amid the unpredictable nature of regional tensions.

The Embassy in Tehran is also extending assistance to hundreds of Indian tourists and pilgrims—particularly from Jammu and Kashmir—who are visiting Iran for religious and cultural purposes. Efforts are being made to ensure their safety through logistical support and regular communication.

A public appeal was recently issued by the Indian mission via the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), urging all Indian nationals in Iran who have not yet registered with the embassy to come forward and share their location and contact details. This will help facilitate faster coordination during emergencies.

To ensure continuous support, the embassy has activated three dedicated emergency helpline numbers:

+98 9010144557

+98 9128109115

+98 9128109109

Further strengthening its response, the MEA has set up a 24/7 control room in New Delhi. The control center monitors developments, coordinates with embassies, and enables real-time action to protect Indian citizens caught in crossfire or unrest.

India's proactive diplomatic efforts reflect its deep commitment to its diaspora. Whether through direct assistance, advisories, or coordinated evacuations, the Indian government is working to safeguard lives and provide reassurance to families back home.

As the Iran-Israel conflict continues to pose serious geopolitical risks, Indian diplomatic missions will remain vigilant and responsive, demonstrating the country’s dedication to the safety of every Indian abroad.
