Vasiyabad Tigers Roar to Victory in Thrilling RPL Final

Prayagraj : In a dominant display of skill and nerves, the Vasiyabad Tigers thrashed Dildar Strikers by nine wickets to clinch the 14th Haji Akhlaq Khan & Haji Badruddin Khan Memorial Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, popularly known as the Rasulpur Premier League (RPL).

The final, held on Tuesday at the Majidia Islamia Inter College (MIC) grounds, saw the Tigers chase down their target with clinical precision. Opting to bat first, the Dildar Strikers struggled against a disciplined bowling attack, managing only 81 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Gola top-scored with 25, but it was Faiz Ali’s devastating spell of 4/16 that broke the backbone of the Strikers' innings.

The chase was a one-sided affair. Vasiyabad Tigers reached the target in just 7 overs, finishing at 83/1. Faiz Ali turned hero with the bat as well, smashing a quick-fire 44 runs, supported by Mohammad Akram (18*) and Mohammad Arif (16).

Earlier in the day, the path to the final was paved with high drama. Vasiyabad Tigers secured their spot by defeating Prayag Paint in a pulse-pounding Super Over, while Dildar Strikers earned their place by overcoming Chabootri Magical Star by 34 runs.
