Grand Kartik Festival Procession Captivates Thousands at Chandroday Temple in Vrindavan
Mathura / Vrindavan : The Chandroday Temple in Vrindavan came alive with an extraordinary display of devotion and faith as thousands gathered to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Kartik month. The first day of the three-day festival kicked off with a grand procession featuring the divine figures of Shri Shri Radha-Vrindavan Chandra, captivating the hearts of attendees and filling the city with an atmosphere of spiritual bliss.
Resplendent in a golden chariot, the deities drew devotees into a state of ecstasy, their hearts swelling with devotion. Prior to the procession, the temple courtyard was adorned with vibrant and fragrant flowers, as devotees took the initiative to decorate the chariot with special blooms, creating a breathtaking ambiance of joy and reverence.
The procession commenced with the deities being carried out in a palanquin from the sanctum sanctorum, followed by their placement on the golden chariot. Rituals such as the removal of the evil eye were conducted, and a message of cleanliness for the holy land of Braj was shared among the attendees. After worship and offerings, devotees joyfully cheered and showered flowers, pulling the chariot around the temple precincts, while locals welcomed the procession by showering petals from the streets.
The air resonated with the sounds of Harinam Sankirtan as devotees engaged in singing Dhamodar Ashtakshara and lighting lamps, seeking blessings from Shri Shri Radha-Vrindavan Chandra. Devotees from various ISKCON centers in Bangalore enhanced the festive spirit through their enthusiastic chants.
District Panchayat President Shri Kishan Chaudhary graced the event with his presence. The grand procession attracted thousands of devotees from Mathura, Agra, Delhi, and Noida, who collectively experienced the bliss of devotion and joy.
