Northern Railway Adds Coaches, Special Trains for Festive Rush

New Delhi: To ensure smooth and comfortable travel during the festive season, Northern Railway is adding a total of 59 coaches across various regular trains, accommodating more than 2.25 lakh passengers. These additional coaches will operate on 2,996 trips throughout the period. From October 1 to November 30, 2024, Northern Railway, in collaboration with other regional railways, will run 3,050 special trains, with 83% catering to states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Assam.

Northern Railway has made provisions to run unreserved special trains to manage extra crowds based on real-time demand. Regular announcements are being made across stations about special trains and additional coaches, while 360-degree information dissemination is ensured via official social media platforms. To ease ticket purchasing, additional booking counters, reservation counters, and ATVMs have been set up, with plans for city-specific ticket counters. Northern Railway remains committed to providing safe, comfortable, and seamless travel for all passengers during the festive period.
