Gorakhpur - On February 01, 2024, Honorable Finance Minister, Government of India, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman presented the country's interim budget in the Parliament. Provision has been made in the budget to build three rail-related corridors, which include energy, mineral and cement corridor, port connectivity corridor and high traffic density corridor. This will improve logistics, reduce costs and accelerate economic development.

The budget will increase railway safety. Forty thousand coaches will be developed on the lines of Vande Bharat coaches. Honorable Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, Shri Ashwini Vaishnav explained in detail about the budget and railway projects received by Railways in the Interim Budget 2024-25 during the press conference held at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi today.

Expressing his gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for allocating record amount for the development of Railways, he said that in the budget 2024-25, a budget of Rs. 2 lakh fifty-two thousand crore has been allocated to the Railways, out of which Uttar Pradesh will get Rs. . A budget of Rs 19,575/-crore has been received, which is 17 times more than the average budget received during the year 2009-14.

The Railway Minister said that at present 1978 km in Uttar Pradesh. Railway track is being constructed every year, which earlier (year 2009-14) was 150-160 km. Used to be. 100% electrification of all the broad gauge railway sections of Uttar Pradesh has been done. Shri Vaishnav said that at present in Uttar Pradesh Rs. An investment of Rs 98,015 crore has been made by Indian Railways. 157 stations of Uttar Pradesh are being developed under AMRUT Station. He said that in the last 10 years, 1377 road over bridges/road under bridges have been constructed in Uttar Pradesh. Stalls under 'One Station One Product' have been opened at 143 stations in Uttar Pradesh, which is providing a wider market to the local products and increasing the income of the people. Shri Vaishnav said that the work of development of stations is being done at a very fast pace. Apart from this, the Railway Minister presented the details of the budget allocated for the development of railways in other states.

He said that three new corridors will be built under Amrit Chaturbhuj, which will be of four and six lines. This corridor will be approximately 40,900 km. With its construction, the capacity of the railway track will increase and more and more trains will be able to run, which will be beneficial for the people. In response to a question, Railway Minister Shri Vaishnav said that Indian Railways is investing Rs 1 lakh eight thousand crore on safety. To strengthen the security, work is being done rapidly on the armor system, which was started in the year 2016.

He told that last year 5200 km. New track was laid and this year 5500 km. A target has been set to lay a new track. Five stations in Ayodhya area are being developed. Work is being done for doubling of all the railway sections coming to Ayodhya, in which DPR of Mankapur-Ayodhya Dham section is also being done. Has been prepared.
