Prayagraj : A new wave of sustainable agriculture is gaining momentum in India, with nano fertilizers emerging as an eco-friendly solution to conventional farming challenges. In a recent field demonstration held in Soura Jalalpur village, near the IFFCO Phulpur unit, senior IFFCO officials educated local farmers on the correct application and benefits of Nano Urea Plus and Nano DAP in pulse cultivation.

The awareness program was led by Sanjay Kudeshia, Senior Executive Director and Unit Head at IFFCO Phulpur. Emphasizing the environmental importance of nano fertilizers, Kudeshia stated,
"Nano fertilizers are crop-friendly, soil-compatible, and environmentally safe. Unlike traditional chemical fertilizers, they do not contaminate groundwater or degrade soil health."

He further explained that nano-based inputs can significantly help mitigate the global crisis of climate change, an issue that continues to threaten global agricultural sustainability.
"Today, the world is grappling with global warming. Nano fertilizers, by minimizing chemical usage and reducing soil and water pollution, contribute to combating this challenge effectively," Kudeshia added.

The IFFCO team engaged with local farmers, particularly focusing on the moong (mung bean) crop, demonstrating practical methods for nano fertilizer usage. They shared insights into the correct dosage, application technique, and timing for both Nano Urea Plus and Nano DAP sprays to maximize yield and reduce environmental impact.

The training aimed not only to educate farmers but also to initiate a long-term behavioral shift in agricultural practices. Kudeshia reaffirmed IFFCO's commitment to grassroots farmer outreach, saying,
"We will continue to remain in touch with farmers, provide ongoing training, and raise awareness about sustainable solutions."

Key members of the IFFCO team present during the field session included:

Dr. Harishchandra, Principal, CORDET (Cooperative Rural Development Trust)

Shyam Prakash, Public Relations Officer

Anurag Tiwari, Training Manager

Colonel Gorakh Singh Sengar

Rajesh Singh, Senior Field Officer

These officials collectively explained the economic and ecological advantages of adopting nano fertilizers. The team stressed that nano inputs not only reduce input costs for farmers but also preserve long-term soil fertility, contributing to regenerative agriculture.

Farmers participating in the event expressed curiosity and enthusiasm about trying nano fertilizers, particularly after learning how they could achieve similar or better yields with reduced chemical input.

As India pushes towards greener and more sustainable agricultural practices, nano fertilizers are rapidly becoming a cornerstone of this transition. By reaching out to rural communities and training them in environmentally friendly practices, IFFCO is playing a critical role in aligning Indian agriculture with global sustainability goals.

This initiative underscores a broader shift towards climate-smart agriculture, where innovation and tradition meet to create a future-proof farming ecosystem.

With continued efforts by organizations like IFFCO, nano fertilizers may soon become the new normal in farming—a change that benefits not only the farmer but also the planet.
