Student Parliament Cultivates Future Leaders Through Active Participation at Dr. L.P. Lal College
Dr. L.P. Lal College organizes student parliament to empower leadership, promote responsibility, and instill confidence among young future leaders.

Lucknow : In a remarkable initiative to foster leadership and character development among students, Dr. L.P. Lal College, located in Bhithouli Khurd, organized its annual Student Parliament for the academic year 2025-26. The event aimed to inculcate a sense of responsibility, confidence, and active participation in institutional governance among young minds.
The college declared the newly elected student leaders with great enthusiasm and ceremony. Rohit Trivedi was named the Head Boy, while Marhaba Vakar earned the position of Head Girl. Supporting them in leadership, Humd Akhtar was chosen as Deputy Head Boy and Arya Singh as Deputy Head Girl.
The Student Parliament, modeled on democratic lines, comprises four houses—Gandhi, Nehru, Lincoln, and Tagore—each represented by a team of elected Captains, Vice-Captains, and Prefects. These house systems not only promote team spirit and healthy competition but also empower students to take initiative and showcase their organizational abilities.
From Gandhi House, Anshika Sharma and Vikas Sahu were elected as Captain and Vice-Captain respectively. Prefects included Avantika Dwivedi, Jeet Rawat, Lakshya Patel, Yograj Pratap, Ilma, and Ariba Khan.
Nehru House saw Deepti Singh as Captain, Kavya Singh as Vice-Captain, and Prefects Priyanka, Manya, Fatima, Iqra, Adarsh, and Mohammad Rehan.
Lincoln House appointed Harshita as Captain and Pratigya Yadav as Vice-Captain, with Prefects Lavanya, Shiksha, Piyush, Saksham Kumar Jha, Poorvi, and Drishti.
From Tagore House, Sakshi Yadav and Prakhar led as Captain and Vice-Captain, with Ekta, Priyanshi Rawat, Sonakshi, Swastik, Ayush, Apoorv, and Anshika Singh taking on roles of Prefects.
Adding to the leadership ecosystem were five primary student-run clubs:
Cultural Club: Anushka Sharma, Chinki, Shashwati, and Shubhangi
Science Club: Ansh Upadhyay, Mohammad Rehan, Shreya, and Arnav
Literary Club: Sujata, Anmol Tiwari, Shreya, and Aradhya Dixit
Reporter Club: Asfi, Stuti Singh, Piyush, and Vartika
Sports Club: Abhishek Sharma, Rishi, Srishti Sharma, and Deepti
The closing of the event was marked by an energetic Taekwondo performance from the college's martial arts team, demonstrating not only physical prowess but the discipline that the Parliament aims to instill.
Speaking about the motive behind this initiative, the event coordinators emphasized that the Student Parliament is not merely symbolic but an active platform where students practice democracy, voice opinions, and lead projects. The college management believes such initiatives play a crucial role in shaping tomorrow's leaders who are not only academically proficient but socially responsible as well.
This dynamic platform continues to be a testament to the institution’s commitment to holistic education—empowering students to dream, lead, and transform.
