KVS Lucknow Region Inaugurates Three-Day Annual Principals’ Conference

Lucknow: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Lucknow Region, inaugurated its three-day Annual Principals' Conference on June 15, 2025, at Hotel The Regnant. The event is being presided over by Mrs. Sona Seth, Deputy Commissioner, KVS Lucknow Region, and will continue until June 17, 2025.

A total of 48 principals from Kendriya Vidyalayas located in Lucknow, Kanpur, Bareilly, and other districts under the Lucknow Region are participating in the conference. The key agenda of the conference includes reviewing the progress of the schools, evaluating academic performance, and discussing the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan holds a significant position as a premier institution in the field of school education across India, operating a network of 1274 schools nationwide. Out of these, 48 Kendriya Vidyalayas fall under the Lucknow Region, with 11 of them functioning in double shifts to accommodate a larger number of students. In accordance with NEP 2020, KVS offers education from foundational Balvatika classes up to Class 12, encompassing Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams.

During the inaugural session, Assistant Commissioners of KVS Lucknow Region—Mr. Anup Awasthi, Mrs. Archana Jaiswal, and Mr. Vijay Kumar—led discussions on enhancing examination results, strict adherence to the Ministry of Education’s policies, and fostering life values among students. They emphasized policies for the holistic development of students, integrating academic excellence with character-building initiatives.

On the first day of the conference, various academic and administrative topics were comprehensively discussed. Mrs. Sona Seth, Deputy Commissioner, stressed the importance of not only delivering quality education but also ensuring the physical and mental well-being of students. She encouraged school leaders to create a balanced educational environment where students thrive in all dimensions of growth.

A special highlight of the conference will be the participation of Mrs. Nidhi Pandey, Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (Headquarters), along with her delegation, on the third day. Their presence underscores the importance of this regional conference in shaping national-level educational strategies and policies.

Adding to the academic discussions, a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) exhibition will also be held in the main hall. The exhibition will showcase innovative projects and creative works by students from various Kendriya Vidyalayas within the Lucknow Region, reflecting the integration of interdisciplinary learning as envisioned in NEP 2020.

The conference is expected to foster a stronger collaborative framework among principals, enhance leadership in schools, and ensure that Kendriya Vidyalayas continue to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and forward-looking education aligned with India’s evolving educational landscape.
