Kanpur : The 49th installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Kanpur South was held with grandeur at Hotel Little Chef, marking the official transition of leadership for the year 2025-26. The newly elected President, Rtn. Manoj Shukla, formally assumed office from the outgoing President, Rtn. Satbir Singh. Similarly, Rtn. Mahesh Makhija took over as Secretary from Rtn. Ravi Dayal.

During the event, the newly elected executive committee also took their oaths for the year 2025-26. In his inaugural address, President Rtn. Manoj Shukla emphasized the Club’s renewed commitment to community welfare and education. “This year, we aim to transform our newly established Saraswati Shishu Mandir into a model school by fulfilling all its essential requirements,” he stated.

He further outlined the Club’s upcoming service agenda which includes organizing blood donation drives, free medical camps, tree plantation programs, scholarship awards, and book distribution initiatives.

The event was graced by several dignitaries. District Governor Rtn. Rajen Vidyarthi, who served as the Chief Guest, expressed his intent to raise substantial support through global grants. “I will strive to initiate maximum community welfare projects in collaboration with various Rotary Clubs,” he added.

Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan, the Guest of Honour, lauded the consistent social contributions of the Rotary Club. He assured that if any government resources are needed to support these initiatives, he would ensure cooperation from the Uttar Pradesh Government.

Former Member of Parliament Arun Pathak also praised the club’s vibrant culture of service. “The Club’s strong base of professionals and businessmen makes its social efforts highly impactful. I am always ready to support such initiatives,” he remarked.

Cooperative State Chairman Vijay Kapoor shared his deep personal connection with the Club. “I’ve been an honorary member for 15 years, and this Club feels like home to me. I’m always delighted to be part of its activities,” he said.

The ceremonial proceedings were smoothly conducted by Rtn. Vishal Sahni and Rtn. Banu Tandon. The event was attended by several notable personalities including Ashok Mehra, Rajesh Awasthi, J.S. Arora, Ajay Deher, Rajesh Bhatia, Harpreet Singh, Mayank Sengar, Vicky Gujral, and Rishabh Narula, among others.

As the Rotary Club of Kanpur South embarks on its 49th year of service, the new leadership brings with it a fresh wave of enthusiasm, focused on education, healthcare, and sustainable community development. The event served not only as a formal handover but also as a renewed promise to uphold the Rotary motto — “Service Above Self.”
