JCI Presses DGP to Publish Nodal Officers' List for Journalists
DGP UP orders districts to appoint officers for journalists' concerns.
Pratapgarh: On August 27, 2024, the DGP of Uttar Pradesh instructed the appointment of district-level officers to address journalists' issues. However, journalists were told that the order had not yet been received.
In response, the Journalist Council of India (JCI), under Dr. Anurag Saxena, demanded that the names, designations, and contact details of these officers be made public. The JCI stressed the importance of transparency to ensure journalists can seek assistance and work free from fear or harassment.
