Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Approves Major Job Recruitment Drive And Key Social Welfare Policies

Shimla : In a landmark executive session chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet approved a series of transformative decisions aimed at boosting public sector employment, enhancing welfare stipends, and accelerating regional infrastructure development.

The meeting approved the recruitment of over 7,500 posts across various government departments to strengthen administrative efficiency and state services. A major portion of this hiring drive focuses on the education sector, filling key positions in state schools and libraries, alongside a one-time upper-age relaxation for police constable applicants to benefit local youth.

In a boost for healthcare workers and community support staff, the Cabinet sanctioned an increase in the monthly honorarium for ASHA workers and enhanced financial assistance for long-serving local employees. Medical education received equal focus, with approvals for new specialized degree courses at major state medical colleges alongside increased monthly stipends for postgraduate medical students.

To strengthen rural and agricultural livelihoods, the Cabinet introduced targeted subsidies for fishermen under the Mukhya Mantri Machhuara Samman Nidhi Scheme. This initiative provides financial aid during closed fishing seasons, alongside high subsidies for equipment and cold-chain infrastructure.

Additionally, structural decisions were finalized to establish new specialized sports hostels, set up drug testing laboratories, and upgrade several regional health centers into full-fledged hospital facilities. Further approvals cleared the development of satellite urban housing projects near Shimla and road safety audit policies to improve all-weather connectivity.

These decisions reflect the state administration's strategy to address employment needs, upgrade public health infrastructure, and ensure sustainable socioeconomic support across Himachal Pradesh.
