Giant Mahua Tree Collapse Injures Girl, Disrupts Market
A massive tree collapse injured a girl, damaged shops, and halted traffic for hours.
Pratapgarh: A massive Mahua tree suddenly fell at Jamtali Bazaar on Rani Ganj-Patti Road around 9 AM, injuring 16-year-old Kashish Singh, daughter of Dr. Sanjay Singh, as she was on her way to computer coaching. After hours of effort, the severely injured girl was rescued and admitted to the hospital. Several shops, including those owned by Rakesh Modanwal, Vinay Modanwal, and others, were damaged by the fallen tree, along with a scooter crushed underneath.
The collapse also brought down electric poles and disrupted power supply in the market area for the entire day. Timely intervention by police and local authorities, led by Jamatali Outpost In-charge Harimohan Rajput, helped clear the tree from the road, resuming traffic after two hours. Thankfully, the incident did not occur during peak market hours, preventing a larger tragedy.
