Montfort Alumni Highlights Importance of Family in Education at Lucknow Seminar

Lucknow : Montfort Inter College, Lucknow, hosted a thought-provoking seminar centered around the theme “The Role of Family in a Child’s Education”, bringing together school authorities, alumni, parents, and students to reflect on the shared responsibility of academic success.

The event was held in the college auditorium and began with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the quest for knowledge. This was followed by a soulful prayer song and a Bible reading by the school choir, setting a respectful and contemplative tone for the program.

The seminar welcomed Siddharth Verma, a distinguished alumnus and Divisional Operational Officer, Northern Railway, as the chief guest. Also present were Principal Brother Jeenu Abraham, Vice Principal Neena Das, School Coordinator Bindu Pillai, and Administrator Brother T.T. Mathew, along with several parents of current students.

The guests were felicitated with flowers and saplings, reflecting the institution’s commitment to growth, sustainability, and deep-rooted values. In his welcome address, Principal Brother Jeenu Abraham discussed the school’s ongoing efforts toward academic development and nurturing student potential.

A PPT presentation showcased the school’s annual academic and extracurricular activities, highlighting key achievements and progress across various domains.

Chief guest Siddharth Verma, in his keynote session, spoke passionately about how a supportive family environment lays the foundation for a child’s academic and personal growth. He stressed the importance of active parental engagement, consistent encouragement, and emotional stability in a student’s life. His session was followed by an interactive dialogue, where students and parents had the opportunity to share thoughts and ask questions, making the session dynamic and relatable.

Students then took the stage to present a group song, which added a melodic interlude to the educational discourse.

Vice Principal Neena Das addressed the audience on the school’s guiding principles and rules, emphasizing discipline, integrity, and values-based education.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks followed by the Montfort Anthem, bringing the seminar to a meaningful close. The seminar served as a powerful reminder of how institutions, families, and former students can collaboratively contribute to the educational journey of the next generation.

Montfort Inter College once again demonstrated its commitment not just to academic excellence, but to holistic student development rooted in family, values, and community.
