Lucknow: The Custodian of Enemy Property for India, Mr. Rahul Ramesh Nangare, conducted an inspection of various enemy properties in Lucknow during his recent visit. During this time, he held key meetings with officials from the Uttar Pradesh government to accelerate development projects. Among the highlights was the review of ongoing work at Butler Palace and Butler Lake, spanning 20 bighas. Despite an investment of nearly ₹8 crore, Mr. Nangare emphasized the need to expedite the beautification and development processes, urging stakeholders to maintain the pace.

The plan involves transforming the property into a public space with heritage features, a photo gallery, and a light-and-sound show reflecting Awadhi culture. Discussions were held at the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) office, chaired by Mr. Nangare, alongside Commissioner Mrs. Roshan Jacob and other officials. The proposal also includes granting the Uttar Pradesh government use of this property through a Leave & License agreement, pending approval from the Custodian. In another meeting, strategies for utilizing enemy properties in Sitapur’s Mahmoodabad were discussed, indicating a move toward welfare-oriented development.
