The dignitaries who delivered keynote addresses at the inaugural ceremony included Dr. P.R.Sodani, President, IIHMR University, Dr. Poorav Gandhi, Founder & CEO, Healthark Insights, Mr. Vishnu Mohan Jha, Vice Chairman, ASSOCHAM Rajasthan, and Mr. Siddhartha Dutta, Partner, Ernst & Young LLP.

IHMR University organised a ceremony at the university campus to mark the commencement of the 2024-26 Batch of MBA programme. The inaugural ceremony of this batch welcomed 400 new students.

The batch comprises of students from MBA (Hospital and Health Management), MBA (Pharmaceutical Management), MBA (Development Management) and MBA (Healthcare Analytics).

MBA (Healthcare Analytics) is a new program being launched this year. A group of 400 students will be starting their academic journey through this batch. This year’s intake comprised 58% of female students, reflecting the University’s emphasis on gender diversity. Moreover, students selected for the MBA programs come from a variety of backgrounds, including medical, dental, health, commerce, science and arts.

Dr. P.R. Sodani, President, IIHMR University, welcomed the new batch with his address at the ceremony and thanked all the students for choosing IIHMR University for their professional journey. Dr. Sodani said that the newly inducted students will be with IIHMR University for the next two years.

Dr. Sodani spoke about IIHMR's 40-year legacy in the field of health management and highlighted the significant contribution of IIHMR University in strengthening the health systems of the country. He appreciated the role of alumni for their significant contribution to the health management industry. He also emphasized that the curriculum of all MBA programs is enriched with new information and knowledge every year.

Dr. Sodani said that a five-day orientation program for students will run from August 5-9, 2024, in which students will be informed about the various activities of the university and the code of conduct.

Dr. Purav Gandhi, Founder and CEO of Healthark Insights urged the students to gain complete knowledge of new technologies. He said, "Now you are going to work for an industry that will always be there, that will keep growing, that will be vibrant.

Our government's vision is that by 2047, a full hundred years of our independence, India will not just be India; it will be developed India and will be the largest economy in the world. And this is only possible with the help of talented people like you.”

He advised the students, “Develop in-depth knowledge, be the best in your craft, develop good habits, focus on building your reputation, have a purpose, be strong in the face of problems and believe in yourself.”

Assocham Rajasthan Vice Chairman Mr Vishnu Mohan Jha said, “Two years of MBA is indeed a long time, but it can truly change a person. Academics are a must, but beyond that, develop yourself as a person. As you step into the role of a future leader, remember that your work will not only impact the institutions, but you will also touch the lives of countless people. It is important that we approach every challenge with a problem-solving mindset.

Prioritize ethical decision making, as healthcare is a very sensitive sector, it affects people's lives, and everyone must work together to bring dignity to the entire profession."

I congratulate all of you for joining this great institute. I suggest you set your goal and focus on technology.

This institute has 4000 alumni, and with such a strong alumni network and support from esteemed faculty members, getting a job is not a big deal. I wish you all the best for a better and brighter future.''

The Deans of Institute of Health Management Research, School of Pharmaceutical Management, School of Development Studies and School of Digital Health were also present at the event. Dr. Ritu Vashisht, Assistant Professor at IIHMR University coordinated the event.
