Awadh Collegiate Players Shine with 15 Medals at State Taekwondo Championship
Awadh Collegiate students dominate the State Taekwondo Championship in Lucknow, securing an impressive haul of 15 medals
Lucknow. The young martial artists of Awadh Collegiate delivered a stellar performance at the two-day State Level Taekwondo Championship held at the Agarwal Shiksha Sansthan in Moti Nagar. Demonstrating exceptional skill, discipline, and stamina, the school's athletes clinched a total of 15 medals, bringing immense pride to their institution and the district.
The tournament saw fierce competition from hundreds of participants across Uttar Pradesh. Leading the gold rush for Awadh Collegiate were Aarush Singh (Cadet 36kg), Yashra Usmani (Sub-Junior 32kg), Parth Dixit (Sub-Junior 32kg), Ansh Rajput (Sub-Junior 29kg), and Kavya Maurya (Female Cadet), who all secured top podium finishes.
Adding to the impressive tally, silver medals were bagged by Tejas Srivastava, Nikhil, Tanvi, Saksham, Atharva, Kavya, and Anshuman in their respective weight categories. Pulkit Srivastava further contributed to the success by winning a bronze medal in the Sub-Junior 30kg segment. Thanks to these collective efforts, Lucknow secured the overall Team Championship title, followed by Ghazipur in second place and Ballia in third.
Expressing his joy, School Manager Sarvjit Singh credited the victory to the rigorous pre-tournament training camp. Director Jatinder Walia added:
"Our players showed incredible confidence and technical excellence. This success is a combined result of the players' dedication, parental support, and the masterful guidance of Coach Ghanshyam Sharma."
The event, organized by Subhash Maurya, was inaugurated by R.C. Sahu, with U.P. Taekwondo Association Treasurer Ranjit Kaur in attendance. The concluding ceremony saw C.K. Sharma distributing medals to the winners. Following this triumph, the local sports department has announced a special felicitation ceremony for the champions as they set their sights on the upcoming National Championships.
