NTPC Tanda Transforms Akbarpur Station with Green Vision and Cultural Pride
NTPC Tanda beautifies Akbarpur Station with plantation, cleanliness awareness, and promotion of Hindi language, enhancing community engagement.

As part of this green initiative, a variety of plant species were carefully selected and planted across the station premises. These included shade-providing trees, decorative plants, and pollution-resistant flora designed to improve the air quality and create a welcoming, soothing atmosphere for travelers. The plantation drive also symbolizes NTPC’s long-term commitment to sustainability and ecological balance.
To further amplify the message of social responsibility, eye-catching hoardings were installed throughout the station. These hoardings carried messages promoting cleanliness, environmental protection, and the usage of Hindi as the official language. Designed with simplicity and clarity, the visuals were aimed at effectively communicating essential messages to a wide audience, including daily commuters and railway staff.
The event was graced by Mr. Rajneesh Kumar Khetan, Additional General Manager (Human Resources), NTPC Tanda, who served as the chief guest. Accompanied by Station Master Mr. Vinod Kumar and NTPC’s Corporate Communication and Rajbhasha Executive Mr. Varun Soni, Mr. Khetan led the plantation activity and highlighted NTPC’s ongoing efforts towards community development and environmental care.
“NTPC is not just about power generation. We believe in powering lives, supporting communities, and preserving our environment,” said Mr. Khetan. “Our contribution to the beautification of Akbarpur Station is part of our larger responsibility to promote green practices and linguistic heritage.”
This initiative, while seemingly modest, carries deep significance. It not only enhances the visual environment of the station but also fosters public consciousness regarding ecological balance and the cultural value of Hindi. The station now stands as a symbol of a modern, clean, and conscious India.
More than just a corporate gesture, the collaboration between NTPC Tanda and Indian Railways showcases how public-private partnerships can bring real, lasting change at the grassroots level. The station has been transformed into a space where travelers can experience both serenity and a sense of cultural connection.
By integrating environmental preservation with language promotion, NTPC Tanda has set a strong example of holistic development. It reflects the organization's ethos of inclusive progress, where infrastructure enhancement goes hand in hand with community upliftment.
The beautified Akbarpur Railway Station is now more than just a transit point—it is a green gateway carrying messages of sustainability, hygiene, and national language pride to all who pass through it.
