Lucknow Girls Dominate Day One of State Rollball Championship
Lucknow's girls' teams started strong, winning all their matches on the opening day of the State Rollball Championship.

The championship was inaugurated by Member of the Legislative Council, Pawan Singh Chauhan, who addressed the players and promised to secure a proper ground for regular practice for the city's rollball athletes. This announcement was met with great enthusiasm, providing a significant boost to the morale of the young players.
According to Manoj Verma, President of the Lucknow Rollball Sports Association, the three-day event, running from August 31 to September 2, is being held at the indoor hall of Chowk Stadium. The championship has drawn teams from 35 districts across Uttar Pradesh, making it one of the largest rollball tournaments in the state.
The day's matches were a testament to Lucknow's athletic prowess. In the mini-category, the girls’ team delivered a commanding performance, defeating GB Nagar with a decisive 5-0 score. The victory was spearheaded by Ashriya Singh, who scored three spectacular goals, and Ipshita Singh, who added two more. The team's overall excellent performance, particularly by player Sumedha, captured the attention of everyone in attendance.
The junior-category team also showcased their superiority with an overwhelming 7-1 victory against GB Nagar. The offensive charge was led by Aaradhya, who netted four goals, with Aadya contributing two and Kavya adding one. These decisive wins have firmly established the Lucknow teams as top contenders for the championship title.
The inaugural event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Santosh Srivastava, Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Rollball Association, along with Neeraj Srivastava, Manoj Verma, Manish Srivastava, Aditya Bajpai, Sunil Shukla, Prakash Mishra, Ramgopal Singh, Manoj Tiwari, and Anant Tomar.
The impressive roster for the Lucknow girls' team includes Aadya Singh, Ananya Yadav, Parnika Verma, Ashiriya Singh, Ipshita Singh, Aaradhya, Sumedha, Kavya, Shariya, Shubika, Ayati, Harshita, Richal, Myra, Simarpreet, Shatakshi, Rudrika, Siddhi, Ditya, and Uzra. Their strong start has sent a clear message that they are fully prepared and focused on bringing the championship trophy home.
