New Delhi. Deloitte Haskins & Sells has taken the unusual step of resigning as auditor of Adani Ports & SEZ, reportedly due to questionable dealings of the Prime Minister's favorite business group. Earlier, the auditor had issued a 'qualified opinion' on the company's accounts stating that Adani Ports' transactions with the three entities could not be shown to be unrelated party transactions. Most importantly, the auditor had also said that conducting an independent external investigation could have helped confirm this, but Adani Ports refused to do so.

This raises serious questions: Who is the EPC contractor whose security and funding is being provided by Adani Ports? To whom exactly did it sell its Myanmar container terminal in May 2023? It seems that Adani Ports is ready to do anything to hide these apparent related-party transactions. Then Deloitte Haskins & Sells is being forced to resign after completing only one year out of five years as the firm's statutory auditor.

We are waiting for the SEBI report on the Adani scam on 14th August 2023. We expect a detailed probe into the questionable financial condition of the Adani Group as per the pointed questions raised by the expert committee of the Supreme Court. Like it or not, the truth about Modani's corruption continues to emerge.
