Nicosia : The Embassy of India in Cyprus successfully hosted the MBS Well-Being Festival 2025 on December 3rd, where the cultural richness of ‘Incredible India’ was brilliantly displayed. A major highlight of the event was the exhibition of unique products under India's flagship One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, which drew significant attention from a large number of Indian diaspora members and local art enthusiasts.

The Indian pavilion, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship, traditional knowledge, and cultural legacy of various Indian states, became a focal point. Specifically, the exceptional products from Maharashtra and Bihar, featuring the famous Warli Art and the renowned Madhubani Painting, captivated visitors with their artistic depth and authenticity.

The High Commission of India in Cyprus shared on their social media platform 'X' that the Indian stall, as part of the ODOP initiative, prominently featured these iconic art forms. High Commissioner Manish and Madam Preeti Gupta visited the stall during the event, engaging with exhibitors and attendees and commending the positive reception to traditional Indian arts and crafts.

The ODOP initiative is a critical, ambitious program by the Government of India, aimed at providing a global platform to the ancient and rare artistry from the diverse states of India. The High Commission in Nicosia is fully committed to promoting this initiative as part of its cultural diplomacy, trade facilitation, diaspora engagement, and public outreach efforts.

By exhibiting ODOP products in Cyprus, the mission is effectively bridging the Cypriot market with Indian craftsmanship, fostering sustainable tourism, and strengthening people-to-people connections. This persistent effort has garnered international recognition, with the High Commission being honored with the National ODOP Award in 2024 for its outstanding promotion of Indian products abroad.
