Varanasi. The 35th All India Postal Wrestling Competition will be organized from 10th to 12th October 2023 at Sports Authority of India, Netaji Subhash Regional Centre, Lucknow. A total of 95 participants including teams from Postal Circles of 11 states across the country will participate in the competition organized under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Postal Circle.

There will be competitions in 'freestyle' and 'Greco-Roman wrestling in different weight categories. The above information was given by Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, Chairman of the Press and Publicity Committee and Postmaster General, Varanasi Region, in a press conference organized at Manthan Hall located in the Circle Office Lucknow. Apart from host Uttar Pradesh, teams from Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab and Rajasthan Circles will be included in it.

 On this occasion, the logo and the teaser of the 35th All India Postal Wrestling Tournament were also released by Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav and other senior officers. A total of 8 committees have been formed under the chairmanship of all Postmaster Generals and General Manager Finance for efficient management of the tournament.

 Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that along with this tournament, 'World Postal Day' is being organized in Uttar Pradesh on 9th October, and 'National Postal Week' is also being organized from 9th to 13th October 2023 in the same sequence. This year's theme of 'World Post Day' is 'Together for Trust'. Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas on 10th October, Philately Day on 11th October, Mails and Parcels Day on 12th October, and Antyodaya Diwas on 13th October will be celebrated.

On this occasion, awareness campaigns will be run through Dak Chaupals, and Dak Melas in different Districts of Uttar Pradesh and emphasis will also be laid on connecting more and more people with postal services as well as earning maximum revenue. A visit by school children to Post offices will also be made to connect them with the changes taking place in Postal services. Shri Yadav said that in the journey from 'Dakiya Dak Laya’ to ‘Dakiya Bank Laya', Postal services have created many new dimensions. The Postal Department has been witness to many historical and important events. 

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the 35th All India Postal Wrestling Competition will be inaugurated by Chief Postmaster General, Uttar Pradesh, and Chairman Uttar Pradesh Postal Sports Control Board Shri B. Selvakumar on 10th October at 9 am at Sports Authority of India, Netaji Subhash Regional Centre, Lucknow. On this occasion, a cultural event will be organized on the evening of 11th October and an award ceremony will be held on the evening of 12th October. 

On this occasion, Shri Gaurav Srivastava, Director Prayagraj, Shri Ram Vilas Chaudhary, Director Gorakhpur, Shri Shailesh Bansal, Director Postal Accounts, Shri Anand Kumar Singh, Director (Headquarters), Lucknow, Shri Subodh Pratap Singh, Director Kanpur, Shri Alok Ojha, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Lucknow R. M.S., Shri Shashi Kumar Uttam, Assistant Postmaster General (Staff), Shri Vishal Kumar Pathak, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Lucknow, Shri Himanshu Kumar Mishra, Vigilance Officer, Shri Sushil Tiwari, Chief Postmaster, Shri Santosh Kumar Singh, Assistant Director, Sports Development Officer Shri Arvind Kumar Singh and other employees of the Postal Department including various team managers etc. were present.
