Dhami Raises Param Vir Chakra Ex-Gratia to ₹2 Crore

DEHRADUN- Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has raised the ex-gratia for Param Vir Chakra awardees from ₹1.5 crore to ₹2 crore, announcing it on Kargil Vijay Diwas in Dehradun while paying tribute to martyrs at Shaheed Smarak in Gandhi Park.

The decision follows earlier hikes, when the amount rose from ₹50 lakh to ₹1.5 crore. Uttarakhand also approved an Employment Cell for Agniveers, and provides a government job to one eligible member of every martyr's family, strengthening soldier welfare measures.

CM Dhami said his government is fully committed to the welfare of soldiers, ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and martyrs' families. He added that Sainya Dham, the state's Fifth Dham in Dehradun's Guniyal village, will become a symbol of Uttarakhand's military heritage.
