Rupee Rises 13 Paise to 95.81 Against US Dollar
The Indian rupee gained 13 paise to close at 95.81 (provisional) against the US dollar on Wednesday. The rupee vs US dollar rally came as crude oil prices retreated from elevated levels, easing pressure on India's import bill.
The rupee's rise also tracked an overnight fall in the dollar index, while easing US Treasury yields from multi-decade highs supported the currency, forex traders said. Weak domestic markets limited sharp gains.
