He said that when Shastri ji became the Prime Minister there was a food crisis in India in 1965. On one side there is war with Pakistan and on the other side terrible drought. He successfully led the country in this difficult period. When the Indian Army defeated the Pakistani Army he was the Prime Minister.

At that time, Shastri ji made two important calls to the people of the country. Firstly grains and vegetables should be sown on every vacant land and secondly, every Indian should Keep a fast for one day a week in the country Shastri ji had a major contribution to the Green Revolution and Milk Revolution. Singh said that to increase agricultural production in the country and to stop exploitation of farmers he gave the slogan of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan.

Congress leader Rashmita Dubey said that Gandhiji continuously raised his voice against evils like untouchability prevalent in Indian society. He wanted to create a society in which all people get equal status because everyone has been created by the same God, and there is no discrimination among them.
