Ambedkar Nagar:In compliance with the action plan for 2024-25 from the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, a legal awareness camp was organized at the Ambedkarnagar district jail. Under the guidance of Honorable District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Shri Ram Suleen Singh, this camp aimed to educate inmates about their rights, free legal services provided by the District Legal Services Authority, and recent laws enacted by the Government of India.

The camp included detailed sessions on various laws and provisions related to the release of inmates. Additional District Judge and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Shri Bharatendu Prakash Gupta, informed the inmates about the legal aid services available to them. He also discussed the Under-Trial Review Committee (UTRC) campaign set to commence on October 16, 2024, aimed at advocating for eligible inmates' release as per the Supreme Court's directives.

During the camp, Shri Gupta inspected the jail facilities, directing the jail superintendent to ensure cleanliness and provide necessary medical treatment to inmates. He also encouraged inmates to submit applications for free legal assistance or advocate services to facilitate their timely release, thereby ensuring their rights are upheld within the legal framework. The camp saw participation from various officials, including the Chief of LADC, the jailer, and other staff, creating a platform for inmates to voice their concerns and receive assurance for resolution.
