SHIMLA-Medical services across Himachal Pradesh were severely crippled on Saturday as resident doctors launched an indefinite strike. Excluding emergency duties, OPDs and elective surgeries remained shut in major hospitals, including IGMC Shimla, following the controversial termination of a senior resident.

The Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) is demanding the immediate reinstatement of Dr. Raghav Narula. While Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has assured a fresh inquiry, the medical fraternity remains firm, citing safety concerns and "unjustified" disciplinary actions against healthcare workers.
