BMW Group India Hits Record High: Q1 2026 Sales Surge by 17%

New Delhi : BMW Group India has kicked off 2026 with an electrifying start, reporting its highest-ever first-quarter sales. Delivering a total of 4,567 cars between January and March, the luxury automaker achieved a robust 17% year-on-year growth, signaling a dominant position in the Indian premium automotive market.

The group's success was fueled by a balanced demand across its diverse portfolio:

BMW SAVs: The Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment remained the powerhouse, contributing 65% of total sales with 2,966 units—a 38% jump.

Luxury EVs: BMW continues to lead the electric revolution in India. EV deliveries (BMW & MINI) skyrocketed by 83%, totaling 1,185 units.

MINI & Motorrad: MINI recorded a 42% growth with 213 units, while BMW Motorrad maintained steady momentum with 1,216 motorcycles delivered.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, emphasized that despite global geopolitical and economic headwinds, the brand's resilience is unmatched.

"2026 will witness our most significant product offensive yet. We are prepared to launch 27 new products, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve in innovation and customer preference," Brar stated.

To complement its product launches, BMW is rolling out Retail.NEXT, a futuristic dealership concept designed to redefine the luxury buying experience. The company plans to expand its footprint by adding 19 new outlets across 18 cities this year.

With long-wheelbase models accounting for over 50% of sedan sales, BMW’s focus on chauffeur-driven luxury remains a cornerstone of its Indian strategy. As the year progresses, the brand’s mix of high-performance ICE vehicles and a surging EV lineup sets a new benchmark for the luxury sector.
