*Awareness rally on World Suicide Prevention Day at Mahamaya Medical College*

Ambedkar Nagar : On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day, an awareness rally was organized at Mahamaya Government Allopathic Medical College, Ambedkar Nagar.

The aim of this rally was to raise awareness about mental health and spread a positive message in the society to prevent the tendency of suicide. The rally was inaugurated by the Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Yadav by showing the green flag. On this occasion, Vice Principal Dr. Umesh Verma, Head of Psychiatry Department Dr. Amit Gupta, Head of Medicine Department Dr. Brijesh, Head of Transfusion Medicine Department Dr. Manoj Gupta, Head of Pharmacology Department Dr. Sanjay Singh, Head of Dental Diseases Department Dr. Abhishek Pandey, Head of Anatomy Department Dr. Sandeep Kumar Sharma, B.Sc. Principal of Nursing College Dr. Bhaskaran, Vice Principal Dr. Sumit Sharma along with other faculty members, students and staff were present.

Participants in the rally spread awareness through slogans and banners based on suicide prevention, mental health and positive life attitude.
The speakers highlighted the symptoms of mental health problems, the need for timely consultation and measures to help. The program was conducted by the Department of Mental Diseases. In the end, everyone was sworn in to be aware of mental health and maintain positive thinking in society. This event was not only successful in raising awareness, but will also contribute significantly in highlighting the importance of mental health in society.
