Rotary and Education NGO Empower Underprivileged Youth in Prayagraj
Rotary Club collaborates with NGO to support underprivileged students in Prayagraj through books, medals, and academic mentorship.

Prayagraj: Rotary Allahabad Midtown, in its ongoing journey of service, extended a helping hand to the educational mission of "Ek Pehal Shiksha Samiti," an initiative dedicated to empowering underprivileged children through quality learning opportunities. The collaboration marked a significant step in supporting the academic needs of children residing in slum areas of Prayagraj.
“Ek Pehal Shiksha Samiti” has emerged as a beacon of hope for marginalized children by fostering a learning environment that nurtures growth, self-reliance, and community strength. In a recent initiative, former Rotary Club President Dr. Divya Bartaria and current President Radha Saxena jointly contributed to supporting meritorious students entering Class 11. Understanding the critical importance of educational resources at this stage, they facilitated the distribution of school bags and essential textbooks.
Significantly, senior Rotarian and founder-director of Rajeev Publications and Naveen Publications, Mr. Abhishek Ranjan Agarwal, generously provided academic material for all students. His contribution was lauded for its direct impact on the educational journey of these students, enabling them to pursue their studies with dignity and confidence.
The event also witnessed the recognition of academic excellence, with meritorious students receiving medals for their achievements. Such acknowledgments serve as motivation for others in the community, fostering a culture of aspiration and dedication.
A remarkable outcome of "Ek Pehal’s" sustained efforts is visible in the academic success of four girls from these underserved communities. These young women, who once faced socio-economic challenges and lived in slum localities, have now completed their Bachelor of Arts degrees from Allahabad University and are pursuing Master’s programs. This academic milestone is historically significant, considering no student from their area had ever cleared 10+2 with Mathematics. These graduates are now gainfully employed and actively giving back to the initiative that once uplifted them — a true example of the empowerment cycle in action.
During the ceremony, President Radha Saxena and Dr. Divya Bartaria reaffirmed their long-term commitment to guiding and supporting the career development of such children. The Rotary Club collectively expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Abhishek Ranjan Agarwal for his unwavering dedication to service and community welfare.
