The Indian Embassy in Phnom Penh shared the information on the social media platform 'X' and wrote in a post that we are always committed to helping Indians abroad. The first batch of 60 Indian nationals rescued from fraudulent employers by the Indian Embassy in Cambodia has returned home.
In fact, the Indian Embassy, with the cooperation of the top officials of Cambodia, has rescued a total of 360 Indians, who were sent to Cambodia by a fraud agency by luring them with a good salary job. There they were made to do work like cyber fraud.
The officials of the Indian Embassy had rescued them safely on May 20 from a place called Jinbei-4. The embassy said that the travel documents and other things of the remaining Indian nationals are being checked and they will also be sent back home soon after the process is over.
With the departure of the first batch, Indian Ambassador to Cambodia Dr. Devyani Khobragade held a meeting with Cambodian officials and discussed measures to protect Indian citizens from any kind of crime or scams.
The Indian Embassy wrote in another post on 'X' that a fruitful meeting was held between Ambassador Devyani Khobragade and officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Cambodia. The focus was on intensifying efforts against cyber crime and measures to ensure the safe return of Indian citizens trapped in illegal cyber scams.
