Thriller in Prayagraj: Chabootari Magical Star Enters Semis; First Semifinal Ends in Tie

Prayagraj : The Rasulpur Premier League (RPL) witnessed high-octane drama at the Majidia Islamia Inter College ground on Monday. While Chabootari Magical Star secured a nail-biting one-run victory to clinch a spot in the final four, the first official semifinal between Vasiyabad Tiger and Prayag Paint ended in an extraordinary deadlock.

In a must-win encounter against Youth Fabrication, Chabootari Magical Star set a target of 89 runs, finishing their 10 overs at 88/6. The innings was anchored by a blistering 59 from Naeem Ullah, despite disciplined bowling from Qutubuddin (2/17).

In a tense chase, Youth Fabrication fell agonizingly short, finishing at 87/3. Despite Qutubuddin’s unbeaten 31 and Sanjay Sharma’s 20, the bowling trio of Karan, Naeem Ullah, and Nadeem Ahmed held their nerves to defend the total. Earlier, former councilor Wasim Ahmed 'Guddu' graced the occasion to encourage the athletes.

The first semifinal turned into a run-fest that ultimately had no winner on the day. Prayag Paint posted a formidable 130/5, powered by Saiyan (46) and Divyansh (33).

Vasiyabad Tiger responded with equal fire, matching the score exactly at 130/4, thanks to Mohammad Arif’s valiant 59 and Faiyaz Ali’s unbeaten 45. Due to fading light, the mandatory Super Over could not be conducted.

"The match will resume with a Super Over on Tuesday morning, followed immediately by the second semifinal and the Grand Finale," the organizers confirmed.
