Allahabad University Staff Embrace 'Jan Seva' Ethos in Capacity Building Drive

Prayagraj : The University of Allahabad (AU) has significantly advanced its commitment to public-spirited governance by successfully concluding two intensive batches of the Rashtriya Karmayogi Large Scale Jan Seva Training Programme. The Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, served as the hub for this crucial initiative, which aimed to instill a stronger culture of service among the university's personnel.

A remarkable total of 244 employees from a wide spectrum of academic and administrative units participated with noticeable zeal. The attendees represented numerous departments, including Physics, Botany, Zoology, English, Earth & Planetary Sciences, and specialized centres like Biotechnology, Materials Sciences, and Environmental Science. Furthermore, staff from key administrative sections—the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, NAAC Office, and Placement Office—actively engaged in the modules.

The training was orchestrated by a dynamic cohort of Master Trainers, including Dr. Saroj Yadav, Dr. Ravindra Pratap Singh, Dr. Archana Singh, Dr. Vikas Sharma, Dr. Pratibha Arya, and Dr. Sujeet Kumar Singh. Their approach, utilizing interactive and hands-on modules, ensured deep engagement and active learning throughout the sessions.

Participants lauded the programme, highlighting its importance for nurturing the genuine spirit of Jan Seva (public service) and for constructing a more responsive, people-centric institutional framework. The initiative received strong institutional backing from senior faculty, including Prof. K. N. Uttam, Head of the Department of Physics, and Prof. A. K. Rai, Head of the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences, among others, which enriched the overall learning experience.

The successful completion of these training batches marks a tangible step for the University of Allahabad in aligning with the broader national objectives of the Rashtriya Karmayogi Mission, emphasizing excellence, accountability, and enhanced service delivery.
