Varanasi DRM Orders Immediate Upgrade of Passenger Amenities at Rasra Railway Station
Varanasi DRM Ashish Jain inspects Rasra Railway Station, directing officials to upgrade passenger sheds, toilets, and water facilities
Arriving via a special inspection salon via Mau, DRM Jain carried out a meticulous scrutiny of the station's records, cleanliness protocols, drinking water supply, signaling systems, and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) post.
During his walkthrough, the DRM issued strict directives to the concerned officials to install expansive passenger tin sheds on both platforms without delay. He also ordered the installation of additional drinking water booths on Platform 2 and mandated the construction of a modern public toilet block (Sulabh Shauchalay) to improve sanitation for transit passengers.
Taking advantage of the top official's visit, a joint delegation of local leaders and social workers—including Vishwajit Jaiswal, Congress leader Vishal Chaurasia, and BJP leader Praveen Singh—submitted a formal memorandum to the DRM. The charter of demands urgently requested commercial stoppages for key long-distance trains at Rasra, including the Anand Vihar Terminal Express, Asansol–Gonda Express, Muzaffarpur–Surat Express, and the Garib Nawaz Express.
The high-level inspection was attended by the Operations Manager, DCI Ballia, GRP Ballia In-charge Praveen Singh, Rasra RPF Post In-charge Mahipal Singh, and Station Superintendent Anand Srivastava, alongside several other technical and departmental heads.
