Lucknow:The Uttar Pradesh government has demonstrated its commitment to farmers by providing timely compensation for crops damaged by floods this monsoon. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has disbursed ₹163.151 crore to 3,12,866 farmers across 34 districts. The highest compensation was given to farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, where over 1.10 lakh farmers received ₹70.88 crore.

Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami stated that the administration conducted prompt surveys to assess the damage, ensuring swift compensation. With water released from Nepal and hilly regions affecting over 110,989 hectares of crops, 98% of the affected farmers have been compensated. Efforts are ongoing to ensure that the remaining 2% of farmers receive their due relief.
