India is trying to Resolving the tarrif Issues with the US

New Delhi : Amid the ongoing tariff dispute between India and the US, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has made an important statement. Speaking at an event, he stated that India is engaged in resolving some issues with the US and progress is being made. However, Jaishankar cited the slow progress in trade negotiations as a major issue, stating that the US has imposed certain tariffs on India due to the lack of final agreement on trade agreements. The Foreign Minister categorically stated that India has publicly condemned these tariffs as unjustified.
Jaishankar made these remarks while addressing the fourth Kautilya Economic Conclave held here. This year, the theme of the Kautilya Economic Conclave was "Seeking Prosperity in Turbulent Times," and approximately 75 delegates from over 30 countries participated. Following his address, the Foreign Minister wrote on the social media platform 'X', highlighting the strategic implications of changes driven by the benefits of production, supply chains, trade, connectivity, data, and resources. He also outlined India's approach to global changes to develop manufacturing, make life easier, and advance our comprehensive national power.
Jaishankar stated during the conference that the nature of weapons and warfare has fundamentally changed today. We have seen this in many conflicts, such as Azerbaijan-Armenia, Ukraine-Russia, and Israel-Iran. Wars are now often fought as contactless wars, using stand-off weapons. Their consequences can be extremely impactful, sometimes even decisive. In many parts of the world, there is a growing trend of opposition to globalization.
He stated that many events are now impacting the global economy simultaneously, creating a paradoxical situation. On the one hand, these same factors encourage greater risk-taking, but on the other, given the consequences, efforts are being made to reduce risk in every aspect of politics and economics.
