SKD Academy: Fine Art Workshop Concludes with Clay Modeling Showcase
Six-day fine art workshop ends at Shri Krishna Dutt Academy with creative clay modeling and strong message of nature awareness.

Lucknow, A six-day fine art workshop at Shri Krishna Dutt Academy concluded on a vibrant note with an impressive art exhibition themed around nature and environmental awareness. The workshop emphasized the integration of creativity and sustainability through hands-on sessions in clay modeling, canvas painting, digital art, and photography.
The closing ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual and Saraswati Vandana. It was graced by Chief Guest Ajay Singh, Principal of DIET, Lucknow, and Special Guest Preeti Trivedi, Director of Colonel S.N. Mishra OBE Memorial School. The event was supervised under the able guidance of Academy Principal Naveen Kulshreshtha, with significant contributions from Subhash Tiwari and C.D. Tripathi.
Certificates were distributed to all participants, while the top three artists received special recognition for their outstanding artworks.
Kusum Batra, Additional Director and workshop convenor, noted that the initiative provided a meaningful platform for both children and adults to explore their inner creativity. “Through this workshop, many budding artists have emerged. The energy and inspiration from this event will help participants navigate life's challenges with creativity,” she said.
Art instructor Namit Verma elaborated on the techniques used in clay modeling — an expressive art form that involves sculpting materials like polymer and air-dry clay into flowers, utility items, and miniature sculptures. Participants eagerly created eco-themed clay models, especially decorative flower vases, as per guided instructions.
Instructors Lokesh Verma, Raj Kiran Dwivedi, and Namit Verma trained students in the intricacies of canvas painting, digital media, and photography, encouraging them to reflect environmental themes such as biodiversity, green landscapes, and the importance of conservation.
The overarching message of the workshop revolved around connecting with nature through art, echoing the belief that creativity is an effective medium to inspire environmental responsibility.
Social worker and educator Reena Tripathi stressed the need for such workshops across all schools. “If regular schools are unable to offer this kind of training, principals should encourage their students to join such programs during summer breaks. Institutions like Shri Krishna Dutt Academy are offering remarkable opportunities,” she added.
The workshop not only showcased budding talents but also reminded the community of the healing, expressive, and transformative power of art, especially when it aligns with a noble cause — protecting nature.
