Top Lashkar Commander Hashim Musa Killed in Kashmir Encounter
Security forces kill Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Hashim Musa in Budgam's Operation Korag, major Kashmir counter-terror success.
SRINAGAR-Top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Hashim Musa, also called Hashim Moosa, was killed in a Budgam encounter in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said. Joint forces launched Operation Korag near Yousmarg after intelligence inputs, making this today's top breaking news in Kashmir.
The Chinar Corps said his body was recovered from General Area Palmaidan along with war-like stores. Officials identified him as Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa, wanted in several terror attacks, who had escaped an earlier Yousmarg encounter on September 5.
Reports say Musa belonged to a four-member Lashkar group active since 2022 across Poonch-Rajouri and the Valley. Search operations continue amid fears more terrorists may be hiding, while Jammu Kashmir Police, CRPF and the Army intensify counter-terrorism efforts in Budgam.
