Veteran Canara Bank Officers Mobilize to Drive Growth and Mentor Next-Gen Bankers
Canara Bank retired officers meet in Lucknow to strategize business growth and honor outstanding veteran achievers
Lucknow : The Canara Bank Retired Officers’ Association recently convened a high-profile meeting at the bank's Staff Training Centre within the Lucknow Circle Office. Presided over by the association's Deputy General Manager, S.K. Ghai, the session focused heavily on leveraging the vast experience of veteran bankers to propel the institution's current market growth.
The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Ajit Mishra, General Manager and Head of the Lucknow Circle. Addressing the gathering, Mishra highlighted that retirees form the foundational bedrock of the bank. He urged the veterans to visit branches, mentor the younger generation of tech-savvy bankers, and pass down the rich organizational culture of Canara Bank. As a gesture of appreciation, the Circle Head also presented tokens of gratitude to all attending retirees.
A core agenda of the meeting was boosting the bank’s Low-Cost Deposits (CASA). The forum discussed strategic ways retirees could use their deep-rooted social networks and long-standing client relationships to attract new customers and strengthen existing business ties.

Additionally, updates regarding ongoing negotiations with the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) were shared. The leadership briefed members on resolved issues and outlined the roadmap for addressing pending welfare demands.

A major highlight of the event was the felicitation ceremony led by Ajit Mishra and S.K. Ghai, honoring retirees who have made exceptional contributions to society post-retirement:

Ajay Swarup: Driving healthcare and wellness awareness.
Abhay Kumar (Former GM): Contributions to education through institutional leadership.
Sarva Mitra Bhatt: Dedicated community service and Pranic Healing.
Other notable veterans recognized for their post-retirement achievements included R.N. Prasad, Samuel Singh, Arun Srivastava, Amaresh Chandra Mishra, Rajesh Saxena, Rajiv Srivastava, Rajesh Pant, Prem Kant Upadhyay, and B.K. Saxena.
The meeting, which saw enthusiastic participation from over 50 retired officers, concluded with a collective pledge to maintain organizational unity and actively support Canara Bank’s upward trajectory.
