Gram Panchayats will have to work in mission mode to make them TB free: CMO
Under the National Tuberculosis (TB) Eradication Program (NTEP), a one-day workshop was organized on the subject of TB.
Hardoi. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rohtash Kumar shed light on the status of TB elimination in the district and said that there are a total of 11,845 TB patients in the district, out of which 12 percent are below 18 years of age.
There are three CB Note machines for testing TB. He said that under TB free Gram Panchayat, all the Gram Panchayats have to be made TB free, for which we will have to work in mission mode.
District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Sharad Vaishya said that TB Elimination and Demonstration Project has been going on since January by HCL Foundation in collaboration with Reach Institute.
Efforts will be made to make 300 Gram Panchayats TB free on priority basis. At present, this project is running in Ahirori and Sandila where there are a total of 764 TB patients.
16 TB champions are working in these blocks with the aim of removing misconceptions related to tuberculosis, regular intake of TB medicines and providing nutrition and emotional support to the patients.
763 TB patients have been adopted. From January till now, 2681 TB patients have been given Poshan Potli. A total of 409 community meetings have been organized to make people aware. 784 patients with possible symptoms of TB have been sent for TB testing. TB has been confirmed in 34 of them.
A total of 485 caregivers of the families of TB patients have been identified and trained. Puneet Sharma of HCL Foundation explained the project in detail.
Mukta Sharma, state level consultant of Reach Foundation, explained in detail about TB free Gram Panchayat. What standards are to be fulfilled to make the Panchayats TB free and what processes are to be completed for that. Detailed information was given on this subject.
On this occasion, the NTEP staff of every development block made an action plan to make the Gram Panchayats of their respective development blocks TB free. Along with this, a panel discussion was held in which TB champions shared their experiences.
On this occasion, NTEP District Program Coordinator Mahendra, PPM Updesh, Harnam Singh, all CHC Superintendents, Senior Treatment Supervisor (STS), HCL Foundation's Group Operation Head Yogesh Kumar, Jaishankar Rai, Sector Lead Dr. Abhinav Pandey, Faiq Alvi, Dr. Bhavya, Aman Khan, District Lead Rajan Sunil Nair from Reach Institute, Yunus Khan, Pranshu Gupta, Bholenath Mishra from HLFPPTT were present.
