Mumbai: As the world prepares to celebrate Friendship Day on August 3rd, actress Shivangi Verma shares her personal thoughts on what friendship means in today's fast-paced world. Known for her roles in shows like Choti Sarrdaarni, the film Badass Ravi Kumar, and the upcoming Gaurishankar Gauharganj Wale, Verma believes that some bonds, especially those from childhood, are truly special and irreplaceable.

"I still get excited about Friendship Day like I used to in school," she says with a big smile. "I might not tie friendship bands anymore, but I always make sure to message or call my close friends. Even a small 'I miss you' text matters." She emphasizes the importance of these small gestures in keeping friendships alive, even when busy schedules get in the way.

Discussing friendships within the entertainment industry, Shivangi is candid about the challenges. "It's not easy, I'll be honest. Everyone is busy, and the schedules are crazy," she admits. However, she feels fortunate to have found some genuine friends in the industry. "But I do feel that outside the industry, friendships are more raw and real. In our profession, it sometimes takes time to figure out who’s truly there for you and who’s just being nice on the surface," she reflects, highlighting the complexities of professional relationships in showbiz.

When it comes to her ideal time with friends, Shivangi prefers simplicity over extravagance. "Honestly, I’m someone who loves cozy vibes. So for me, the perfect time is just sitting in pajamas, laughing, maybe cooking together, or having chai and long conversations," she explains. "It doesn’t have to be a party or a vacation. Sometimes, just a long phone call makes me feel connected and happy."

But her eyes truly light up when she talks about her school friends. "Yes, I’m still in touch with my school friends. That bond is unbreakable," she says. "With childhood friends, you can be your silliest, weirdest self, and they still love you the same. That kind of friendship is rare today." Her words resonate with many who value the nostalgic, genuine connections of their youth. In an era dominated by social media and professional networking, Shivangi Verma's perspective is a refreshing reminder that true friendship is rooted in authenticity and shared history.
