For those who are unable to afford insurance at a high premium, India Post Payments Bank of the Postal Department has come up with a special accident protection insurance, in which the beneficiary will be insured for Rs 10 and 15 lakh respectively with a premium of just Rs 549 and Rs 749 per year.

After the end of one year, this insurance will have to be renewed next year. For this, it is mandatory for the beneficiary to have an account in India Post Payments Bank. The above information was given by Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of Varanasi region.

For this, the Postal Department will run a special campaign in Varanasi, Bhadohi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Ballia districts under Varanasi region on June 13.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that under an agreement between India Post Payments Bank and Aditya Birla Health Insurance Group Personal Accident, people aged 18 to 65 years will get this personal accident insurance protection.

Under this, both types of insurance cover will provide cover of Rs 10 and Rs 15 lakh respectively in case of death due to accident, permanent or partial disability, amputation or paralysis. Also, in this insurance, IPD expenses of up to Rs 60,000 and OPD claim of up to Rs 30,000 will be available for treatment during hospitalization due to accident.

At the same time, apart from all the above benefits in both premium insurances, expenses of up to one lakh for the education of two children, one thousand per day in the hospital for ten days, transport expenses of up to Rs 25,000 for the family living in another city and expenses of up to 5,000 for the last rites in case of death will be provided.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that for this it is mandatory for the beneficiary to have an account in India Post Payments Bank. Premium account can be obtained for just ₹ 200/-.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is mandatory for the customer to have Aadhaar number and mobile number. The customer's account is opened immediately on the basis of biometrics without providing any documents and at the same time, the benefit of accident insurance can also be availed without submitting any documents.

No doorstep charge will have to be paid in the premium account, and along with this, electricity bill payment and cashback can also be obtained. It is also possible to pay Sukanya, PPF, RD, PLI etc. online through the IPPB app from home.

Senior Postal Superintendent of Varanasi Eastern Division, Shri Rajiv Kumar said that for registration in this accident insurance facility, people can contact the postman of their area or the nearest post office.
